Light at end of our tunel??????? | Autism PDD

I just had a conversation with J's speech therapist from First Steps.  She said that after 6 months, J will be re-evaluated.  This is the best news I've heard in a while;  but then again, why wait that long???  I think she is maybe seeing some of what I see every day, b/c she kept telling me "I'm so glad you called", like she was trying not to say too much.  She also said she'd send some info to me about how I can help.  melomo8339349.4858912037

It just means that every six months they look at our kids to see if they need to change the goals and truly see where they fall.  We do this constantly with both of my boys.  It really helps because it really allows us to see what is going on and if the diagnosis is still correct.  It also helps with making sure the goals are reasonable and we are not just setting are children up for failure.

Well, that's the thing I'm hoping for:  is just to GET a dx.  As of now, they have only given him speech for one day a week and only 30 min. each session.  They won't even do anything else about a dx for 6 more months.

He needs to be re-evaluated at my home daycare for them to see the way I see him.
