What is prompting the outbursts. What is going on before these outbursts. Once you find that out you can nip in the butt the problem! Thanks everyone. Yes I get everything in writing and do the e-mail thing with cc's.
Today I had a breakthrough when I went to see a consultant. She knew of my situation since she has tabs with the county and my school district must have called the county for a consult. She told me to ask who would be doing it and if it wasn't one of the recommended people she gave me to have them hire her. She said she has alot of experience with my school district and we need my daughter out.
She even gave me her cell phone number. I am feeling a bit better with this advocate/consultant on my side.
What really helped me too was I would cc a lawyer at the end of a note. This way they knew they were going to be read by a lawyer and they better start taking me and my child seriously.
You may want to start this if you aren't getting good responses from your notes.
What a great Idea. Get it in writing. I think it was Tzoya who suggested this but if I am wrong Tzoya or if I am miss quoting I am sorry and please correct me....
Follow up with a email everytime you get a call like this. Restating eveything they said and ask them to correct you in writing if you are wrong. Creat a paper trail. Was it you who said this Tzoya?
They need to find a better way of dealing with this.
You need to get this stuff in writing. I would not except any phone calls from her teacher. You will know if you need to call back when it is the principal or school nurse on the line.
Seriously, if you ever think you may want to get her into another placement, or even switch teachers, get it in a letter!!
Wish I could say I haven't been in the same boat...hopefully the Director will be able to help.Well ... now they said they had to "try" this environment. So they tried, it isn't working darnit! Now they need to fix this!
I would be steamed.
I think I would've said something really smartass like - "Did you not read her IEP? Is that the practice of everyone at this school to not read the documents that we took the time to write down??" My daughter school did something like that, lost her iep paper 2 times! I'm really wondering if most school are like this anymore in US? Wow, a lot disorganization on the schools part. I don't know what to tell you but if it does not get better and you can afford private school than do it. I think I read some where that the public school will have to pay for ot ,speech etc if she is in private school but don't quote me. I'm not 100% sure.
