My son is autistic and he needs more help than the local school district provides. We live in a small city and there are no other schools designed to help children with autism.

Many states have a disability resource center usually located on the campus of one of the major universities. I know because I used to work at the one in Indiana. You can get a list by going to http://www.aucd.org/directory/directory.cfm
They generally do not offer financial aid themselves but they can point you to places who might.

I believe the law says your child should not have to "fit" into the programming they have. The whole purpose of the IEP is so that it fits your child's needs. Get an advocate and fight for what your child needs.
