I have dealt with a lot of scepticism on the HBOT issue and I was wondering myself at several points if I the progress I thought I was seeing was wishful thinking. But we plowed ahead anyway. Baby's latest brain scan shows a normal scan whereas his previous scan showed trouble with is left temporal lobe. In the year we have been doing HBOt with him, his speech and social skills have completely normalized. He may still be behind on speech by 3 months or so. His tantrumming is gone. He has outgrown his diagnosis of cerebral palsy.
I have nothing to say on autism in general because I guess I know nothing of autism in general. But if anyone feels that their kid suffered brain injury at birth and that is what has caused his/her spectrum disorder, for god's sake please, please, please consider HBOT as a viable option. Brain injury is not supposed to heal, but HBOT has reduced the severity of my son's injury to the point where we have a normal scan.
I will be putting up the scans in a couple of days. I am addressing this to mothers who attribute their children's issues to a known event which caused brain injury. If there is documented brain injury, esecially if the injury is less than 2 years old, you will see results.
Forget about the controversy that surronds HBOT. Most of it is simply to do with whether mild HBOT works or not. That need not concern anyone. Go with regular hardshell HBOT on which there is a lot of research.
If you feel your children's issues are genetic or of unknown origin, then I cannot at all comment on whether HBOT will help.
