I am freaking. | Autism PDD

I would immediately request an FBA in writing. Search that term on this site for more info.  Sounds like moving him wouldn't be good.  If worse comes to worse, you can go to a Hearing about the issue and invoke a "stay put," which means they CANNOT move him against your wishes unless the HEaring Officer orders it. Of course, that is the worst case.  My guess is that they will not INSIST and that they can put lots more support in place before a move.  Call and IEP meeting to discuss this -- after the FBA has been done.My son (will be 4 in Nov) is in an inclusive ASD pre-k class.  This year the older and higher functioning kids moved up to Kindergarten and new 3 year olds transitioned in.  Now my son is one of the oldest and definitely highest functioning of the group.  Apparently he has been very non-compliant since the session started and developing bad behaviors and the teacher this morning told me she is suggesting moving him to another program in another school which is integrated but only 1/2 day.  #1 half day would not be good for him and not nearly enough ABA plus, I am a single Mom in school and need to go to school and get a job.  I have no clue how to make it work for ANYONE involved.  One of the new 3's in the class has great social skills except getting the two to play together is difficult because the new boy perseverates on one toy and that's it.  I'm wondering if reinstating my son's 1:1 aide or making it a 1:2 aide to work with the two might be an option.

Any ideas or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Just because your son is acting different, doesn't mean he has to move. It means they have to make adaptations to his needs for THIS year. Kids change and just because he was an 'angel' last year, doesn't garuntee he will be this year. And don't let them blame him or you for the new behaviors.

He also may be bored. You should visit school and make sure his ABA drills aren't the same as last year.
