I agree with snoopywoman depends on her needs. the boys are 4.5 and their biggest issue remains speech and communication. So they are getting VBA/ABA, we are hitting that hard. they also get OT and speech. I don't think RDI is really necessary in our case, and after watching Bopeeps videos of it I think its something we've really been doing all along and they are connected to us and the rest of the world, always have been. We will eventually do something social once we get that speech and communication going a bit better.I always suggest getting ABA. If its mild your child will require fewer
programs and progress at a faster rate.
That totally depends on their needs! If they have gross motor delays, get them into PT and tumbling classes (the tumbling worked WONDERS for my son!). If s/he has fine motor delays - get them OT - either private, through the school or both. If they have speech delays - private speech therapy, through the school or both. Social skills classes, ABA, RDI - these are all good depending on the qualifications and skills of the therapists.
None of our kids are exactly alike so it is impossible to make a blanket statement. What issues do you notice in your child that are things you would like him/her to improve on?
My dd just got her PDDNOS dx at 5. She gets speech, OT, and RSP. The other more intense therapies would be too invasive for my dd. I think she functions best with her peers with support from those areas mentioned above. and the dx is mild pddnos, what therapies would be best?
