I just found out that even though I chose to not enroll my son in special needs preschool last year he still could have received the speech and ot through the school district. Hmmm I guess the people in school once again did not like my decision and made me pay for it. I have had this type of situation before with my oldest (now 17) and I feel stupid for not doing more research as to what services I am entitled. They should have told me this, don't you think?! We opted to put our money towards ABA instead and our insurance doesn't cover anything related to autism.
I'm so sorry this happened...I opted to pull Mason out of extended school year this year and until his Speech and OT came to me, I didn't know he still qualified for those services over summer.
Guess I was lucky they told me!
