I just read over an email from our service coordinator. They are lowering our autism consultant to once a month for an hour instead of the twice a month we had.
I had thought it was just a typo because it was simply an amended ISFP to show that we are paying for his preschool but apparently they think we have such a strong home program (her words) that we should cut the specialist down to once a month. I am a little freaked because the twice a month hardly seemed like enough help.
I'm also confused because the ASD specialist told me that the twice a month isn't written in stone and that if we have something going on, she could come as often as once a week to help us.
She's coming on Tues but I feel a little upset. We are losing time with her because we are doing good?! I just don't get that. So if we were doing a lousier job as parents we would get more time??!!
Frustrated.

OK.......I have to say that I have seen many times that services are cut or reduced when a child is doing well....and what people fail to realize is they are doing well....BECAUSE THE LEVEL OF SERVICE IS WHAT THEY NEED!!! I hate when I hear thing happening!!! It makes no sense!
