Omg personal space is a HUGE issue with Nick I don't know how many times a day he is shoving things in my face (like toys) and the more I tell him to get it out of my face the more he does it, I have noticed him doing this with other kids as well. But boy if you get near him or his stuff look out!! I can barely walk into a room where he is watching a movie even if you are not in his way or view of the television he starts screaming "MOVE" it drives us all crazy I have witnessed my older kids actually army crawl through the living room to get to the couch so he won't scream if they pass in front of the TV !!!! I keep telling them they are enabaling him when they do that, they should walk through and he should have to learn to deal with it or else he will be 18 yrs old and screaming if someone gets in the way of the TV!!!!

Do any of your kids have trouble with personal space? I notice the other day when Carlo was outside riding his bike with Cameron(new neighbor, which he can stand to be around for about 30 minutes)keep putting his front tire of his bike right up to Carlo's bike and Carlo keep saying leave me alone and i did n't realize what the problem was at first but, then i noticed everytime Carlo would move, Cameron kept doing it. So i nicley ask Cameron to come to the side of Carlo where they would be enough space between them cause Carlo still has his training wheels on. Once Cameron did that Carlo calmed right down.I only ask cause i also notice that Carlo has No problem getting in everyone else's personal space. But beware dn't get into his. Thanks for listening.mom2carlo

I

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Jeffrey still has this issue.  Gabe calls it his "bubble space".  And he is always telling Jeffrey to get out of his bubble space.  So yes, kids on the spectrum, some of them, do have issues with this.
