Thanks for the advice. He loves the computer and have been thinking of getting some educational games.
Ryan's SPED teacher has been sending home sheets with sight words and sentences on them and he is reading them to us!!!
I'm so proud of him. I nearly cried.
And he is very proud of himself too. I know he was getting frustrated not being able to read. Especially since his sister, Megan, reads very well. I'm hoping he'll take off from here. Did anyone else notice a change academically in their child once they started to read?
Sarah read extremely early and it was the greatest tool for teaching her..we could write social stories and written prompts on the playground on tiny cards..she responded much better to written words than verbal so we used it like crazy:) It is so wonderful he is reading and can only help him! Many never learn to read so be very blessed! Get flashcards, computer games for reading.
