Well Nick's last day of summer school was last Friday, and it is now Wednesday and I am ready to commit myself!! LOL He seems to be falling apart without the structure, I got a scedule of his day from his teacher so I could try to keep things the same....well that has gone out the window, he won't sit and do anything for me!!!! I realize the poor kid needs his down time but he is being sooooo bad!! He seems like he is doing it on purpose his poor little sis she is getting the raw end of the deal he has been awful to her. I can't even redirect him for longer than 5 minutes. It doesn't help much that we only have one vehicle this week and dad is using it to go to work so me and the kids are stuck sitting at home!!! Everynight before we go to bed he says "I go to sleep I got school in the morning" poor kid!! Two more weeks!!! Well just wanted to vent a little....gotta go he is emptying the movie cupboard onto the floor as we speak!!!! HELP!!!!

Oh I understand that!!! I go through that on a daily basis. And this morning didn't start off too good for Jeffrey. So another bad mood along with the obsessing when he comes home. I do know Friday is the full moon.

School will be great. We strarted on Monday, God Bless Texas. Amanda wakes up and goes through her routine and I drive her the mile through the neighborhood to the school and wave at the crossing guard, park the car in the handicap spot right in front, walk her in, visit with her teacher for 5 minutes and the go home and collapse for 45 minutes. This is just the 3rd day and I couldn't be happier. I don't even mind paying taxes any more. kate and john n texas-mine will start preschool spec. ed. in 2 weeks he will being going for 6 hours a day 4 x week and i am excited and scared to death. he is only 3.5. beleive me i am looking for some quite time but im going to have a nervouse break down wondering if he is ok.i have the same with keith. he just started 2 weeks ago in his first pre k experience....he loves it! the weekends, he thinks is am so mean b/c i wont take him 2 school.

Wait until it is 8 - 3. They come home so tired that you can't pay them to stay awake past 8:30.
Nita Im sorry its so hectic for you. I think its great you got a schedule and tried to make things the same for him... What about trying to set a timer where he has to do an activity you set up (and schedule it on a piece of paper or something so he can see it... set the timer for 5 minutes or whatever he will tolerate 1 minute if necessary... then allow him a 5 minute break to color or something....
Also maybe put a bunch of ideas you want him to do on a piece of paper and try to include a picture of the activity.... put a few play time things on pieces of paper too and hide them in a bowl of dried beans or rice with some small coins.... matchbox cars... little dinosaurs whatever... have him find a piece of paper for the next activity to do set a timer fo rhow long each activity lasts.
Maybe He will think its a game instead of "work" Also he might be screaming and not going along with following the teacher's schedule because you are not doing it exactly like the teacher did... it could even be little things like sitting at a table instead of on the floor or only 1 box of crayons out instead of a caddy with crayons and markers.... I know with Tyler he was VERY specific things had to be the exact same way or he really had a hard time comprehending it and he coudn't communicate it to me that thats what the problem was. Hang in there!
Thanks for the tips Michelle hopefully something will work!!! I think he is just as overwhelmed being home all day as I am having him home all day!! I start school next week and I am trying to get alot of stuff done this week like shampoing carpets and cleaning out dressers getting them ready for new school clothes for 4 kids!!! Well needless to say he is not cooperating to well with me!! That is what I get for putting it all of until now!!! He just seems like he is off the wall unlike he usually is when he gets home from school. Must be he gets it all out in school! I know he has been doing anything and everything to make his sister scream!! I don't know which one is worse him or her. He also won't get dressed he has been in his sponge bob pj's for two days now!!! So I am gonna have to be the big meanie and pull them off and drag him to the tub!!!! Oh I am so tired I can't wait to start school it is gonna be like a vacation to actually go somewheres alone....and to actually have to use my brain for something!!!! Hope tommorrow is better or that he atleast goes to bed earlier tonight!!!!!!!!!!!

((((Nita!))))
My Nicholas is the same w/ me...he like will sit for a second and do the activity and then up and about and he cries if I try to redirect him...It's been getting better though...I found some great puzzles that make noise when you put them together he really likes so when he sees those, I get him to sit...we do one activity I want to work on like matching...then we play the puzzles...of course there are days when he will not do it...but mostly now he is...its insane though how good he is at school for his teacher...I mean he's a sweetie at home, just wants to do "his" thing at "his" own pace...King Rootin' Tootin' we call him...and so little by little the King is learning to sit and stay for the O' Queen mother LOL...I'm hoping you have better luck...and school is really right around the corner! (they are going to kill me too, because he was sitting down for them eating his lunch etc...and that battle has been lost this summer ever since he got too big for his high chair oh well...gotta keep on trying! : ) )
& girl 4 kids, bless your heart!
lol & hugs!

Timmy started school two weeks ago today and I had to keep him home to day because of a doctors appointment. it always seems that when I get him into a routine that he can accept, I have to change it for some doctor. I have to day though that I don't have as much problems with him as I do with his older brothers. They just don't understand that he can't control what and how he does. They just want to fight back and with a house full of boys, it gets rowdy in here, of course it is too hot for them to be out side (over 100 f index).
