Ruby. I hope everything goes well on the bus, and they take care of the situation. Also, in regard to your son, my son has a very hard time relating what happens at school, he has told me that he has had cards pulled when he hasn't, I rely on the teachers for most of my communication. Thanks for the update.
My oldest used to have organizational problems at school. We ended up labeling where everything should go in his locker and in his desk. He also had written checklists on his desk. At the end of the day, the teacher checked to make sure he had all of his assignments written down, and that he had what he needed in his backpack. All of these things really helped him a lot.
Good luck!
Well, just got back from a meeting with my daughters fourth grade teacher. Meghann is doing pretty well however is having major orginization problems. But, you know, I still get that sinking feeling every time I mention anything about her being on the spectrum. Her teacher first of all stated that she does not know anything about autism, but when I pointed out the problems with her social skills she said, "well she seems to be getting along well with the other kids". Sometimes she is by herself but, she also plays with the other kids too." Then I realized why no one else notices the things we as her parents notice and people in the family, like my Mother and my sisters. It's because Meghann only verbalizes her thoughts to me. Which is a wonderful thing to know that she opens up to me, but no one knows the torture that she goes through with socializing, except her family. She does not know how to have a friendship or how to relate to kids period. But, she so desperately wants to. Anyway, you have all heard this before from me.
On to the flipping the card incident for my son yesterday. When I went to the school this morning I saw his teacher in the hall and asked her if Daniel was on green yesterday and she said No! She did have to flip his card from happy face white to plain white yesterday, but it was just because he was touching other kids in line. So I don't know why he thought he was on green. And when I put them on the bus this morning the bus driver had them sit at the front of the bus so she could keep an eye on things. So anyway, can't say everything has been resolved, but atleast we are making some headway.
