It's so difficult out there when in comes to the docs.
A doctor runs a support group in our area and thats how I knew you could request the"mercury free" flu shots. But I have opted out of my son getting the flu shot all together at this point.
one, because at age 11, he has never had the flu. He has had many other things, but never the flu. Secondly, every time I have ever had the flu shot, I have become very sick. 3 times I have had the shot, and 3 times I became very ill. They kept saying that I couldn't of gotten sick from the shot. But within 3 hours of each shot I became ill. My genes are my sons genes also. Since he is home schooled now and one of the doctors in our area treats the child of the doctor that runs the support group,.... the docs have not pushed the flu shot issue with me for my son anymore. But I have gotten into heated arguments at doctors offices about me not allowing my son to recieve the shot in the past. I had one doctor tell me, "it's not like he's going to become anymore autistic than he already is"
I was somewhere between wanting to deck him and crying.
It such a hard decision to make. Obvisouly we wouldn't want our children to get a severe case of the Flu and die from it.
Nor do we want anymore poison injected into our children.
It crazy the pressure we are under and remain under.
We no longer give vaccaines to our kids anymore. We use probiotics so I hope this helps out.
My dh gets the flu shots every year from his job and gets sick every year. None of my kids gets the flu shot because their dr. only orders the ones without mercury for babies. At your childs age they should have given him the Thimersol free shot. Chance are he will be fine but I would have been very angry.
I was also under the impression that the flu shot should not be given until October.

Today my son went for his 1yr checkup at the Dr and recieved an Influenza vaccine. My wife and I have been very diligent in asking the Dr prior to any vaccine if it contains Thimerosal. However, today was an execption. My wife had forgotten to ask ( I flipped out,, truly am sorry)
I was extremely angry at the DR for not letting her know the vaccine contained Thimerosal. Especially that they offer Thimerosal free flushots. The physician told me " The parents normally request mercury free".. I lashed out that "We are not the DRs and should have been advised it was available."
Anyway... He recieved a dosage of .25ml of Fluzone which contains Thimerosal.
I am really panicking and hoping this does not cause him any harm.
