I am not sure how true this is or if its just a scare tactic but I just spoke with a woman in Texas who said that Alqeda is going to be targeting our Elementary schools. Supposedly the National radio personality Glenn Beck had something on about this or is going to have something on his show about this. Has anyone heard of this or know what station Glenn Beck is affiliated with? It may just be a rumor but it has me thinking, its hard enough to send our kids to school knowing the issues they have and then you hear stuff like this it just makes it that much harder. If anyone has the 411 please let me know, I am going to check some other web sites but thought I would check here first, there are so many great people on this board!

Someone please tell me that this is not true. I live in Texas!!!! And all of my kids are in Elem. school!I surfed around at lunch and couldn't find anything to back this up.
Here is my personal opinion, and I don't mean to scare anyone because this is based on NOTHING but my opinion. I also hope I don't offend.
One of the reasons it is so hard for us to anticipate what terrorists will do is that their though process and value system are so fundamentally different than ours that we can't get inside their heads.
Americans are self-preservationists by nature, putting ourselves and our own families above all else. Many american are very religious, but few have demonstrated a willingness to "die for a cause."
The silver lining here is that the terrorists don't really understand us any more than we understand them. As absolutely horrible as 911 was, and I don't by any means wish to marginalize the impact of those events on so many lives, the targets were institutions where people go to work every day. They were also in major cities - and most of America looked around and said "I'm so glad I don't live in New York" as if it could only happen in a place like that. If the terrorists really understood the American mind, and really wanted to go for crippling emotional impact that would cause fear and panic across the nation, they would hit us "at home" and not "at work" by hitting targets such as Disneyworld, mall of America, and schools.
I scare myself when I think like this.
That's true kristy and it does scare me. But I think part of their goal is to hit us financially as well. And symbolically - that is why the World Trade Center was targeted.
Of course the Mall of America could fit both and that really scares me since we go there once in a while! I'm going to be extra cautious tomorrow - it's the first time September 11th is on a Tuesday since 2001. I always thought that perhaps they chose that date because 9-1-1 is for emergencies but maybe I'm reading WAY too much into how they think!
I personally think that no one knows when they can or will attack. And people can speculate all they want - but if people talk about it - I think it is less likely to happen as the terrorists want the element of surprise and shock. But that's just my opinion...
he's on headline prime. before Nancy Grace. Sometimes i think he's a bit of a radical always ranting about something. I mostly take what he says with a grain of salt, because he tends to get a bit of information and runs with it.
He can be entertaining at times but I also think he can put a good scare into you on most of the topics he talks about.
