Autism Schools in Georgia | Autism PDD

Hello Everyone,

Sorry I have not been on in so long. I was on vacation in Georgia for the month of Augusts and once I returned to NYC, well I have just been very depressed

The point behind my rambling is, that I am heavily considering moving to Georgia. The only clencher is finding a good school for my Ethan. Yes, I have been doing my research and what I have found is very scarce. One good thing? the State of Georgia offers, is a scholorship for your child to attend a special needs school but the child would have to sit in a public school for a year as a way for the BOE to see  that the child is in need of services. That is the only down side because I know Ethan needs a special placement-it says so on his IEP.

So I am desperate to make this move and I need some help. Does anyone live in the Atlanta area who could give me some advice on how to make this move? Your help is greatly appreciated.

I have considered this move carefully. Ethan loves it there and he loves being closer to my mom. He adores her. He loves being able to go out and play and he loves the nature. He also seems a lot calmer when he is there too.

All advise, suggestions, experiences are greatly welcomed.

leesita 12539334.3073148148We have considered it too - there are 3 schools based on Floortime in Atlanta ( VERY expi though ) But there ar ea ton of other resources on Floortime - Wednesday meetings with other parents taht re free - that we just do not have here and its crossed our mids several times.
We just cannot do it right now and are also  a little scared of being in a big city - we love the small town in which we currently live
Hopefully others will have some more helpful suggestions - but just waanted to say that its a great location
