How does that happen? | Autism PDD

SSI from what I was told by my son's caseworker is "Needs Based" the more earned income within the household, the lower your chances of getting approved. We have our son on it, and we applied in Jan. 2007 and was approved by March 2007 (quick I know), first they back paid us from the approval date to when we applied. Then he started receiving checks in the amount of 3 a month. Well then we got a letter in the mail asking for the next 3 pay stubs of my dh and after they reviewed it, my dh had made too much over a 3 month period so they dropped my son's check from 3 to 0. Well we just had to turn in 3 more months worth of paycheck stubs and from May 2007- Aug. 2007 and within that time limit my husband has since gotten a 2% pay raise and a little overtime. So, I am waiting for the letter to come in and see just how much they are going to take this time. I am a stay at home mom, so I don't have an earned income. But my husband also pays a bit over 0 a month for child support of his other two children. It's a pain in the but, but every little bit helps, especially since they are automatically approved for Medicaid, and with the doctors that my son sees on a regular basis, test and oh LORD not counting the meds, we really need the Medicaid. Without the Medicaid we are looking at about 0-0 in JUST medication alone.

Good luck, and Appeal it, fight it, at this point you have nothing to lose and if they change their minds and approve her, you have a big gain there.
Yea we filled out EVERYTHING back in May... Did the paperwor, interview and gave all Dr's Names and Numbers.. We did everything right. It sucks because It just would have helped soooo much. theres things I want to do for Rissa, Such as the GFCF Diet that we just cant afford. PLus the extra therapy they keep reccomending but insurance wont cover... uggght so frustrating. yea hubby pays child support too. 0 a month just for 1 kid

If I were you I would talk to someone else a the Social Security office. We got conflicting information at first so don't give up.

Good luck,  Merry

WEll my husband is Military so his pay doesnt vary. He gets the same EVERY payday. I'm thinking of filing and appeal. Anyone had luck with that?

Ok so last Friday We received the letter in the mail saying Marrissa was approved for SSI, but that I had to bring in the last 3 months of LES's (military Pay stub) and the pay off statements for both of our cars and we could receive payment. Ok no big deal. I took it up there and She said our account wasnt set up right to go to the bank, call her with the routing # and she would start Payment. I call her from the bank because I needed a paper stating that I was the legal beneficiary recipient, had to leave a message though. Anyway she calls back and says that she has bad knews, We dont qualify... Make too much... HOW does that happen???? My husband is in the Army, his pay did not change. How do we qualify one minute but not the next???

I started Crying right there on the phone because we had some fraud happen that Drained our account... being that it takes awhile to fix that I was REALLY counting on that to save our ass considering they said she got it you know??

So what do I do now?????

yes, appeal u have nothing to loose doing that right, only gain that $$ could definatly help pay for theripy.
