well we finished week 1 with seizures! | Autism PDD

This is just not Mason's week...I've been posting about all of his problems...well I got to school and his teacher informed me that he had 2 seizures this afternoon!  I was quite angry that they didn't call me, but she said they were small quick seizures, but within minutes of each other and then he fell asleep for about an hour after.  When he woke up they said he was actually in a very good mood, removed his shoes, lol, but then participated in a few regular classroom activities.

I'm so glad it's Friday!!

But as far as the seizures I told them they need to contact me immediately when they occur...I just need to know, because if Mason starts having clusters I need to give him some medication...well they have the med at school too, but the nurse then went on to tell me she thought it was only for the seizures that last more than 5 minutes, and I said "no, it says on all of his paper work for seizures longer than 5 minutes AND more than 3 seizures within a half hour of each other."  She did look really sorry for not knowing that...I remember talking to her about it at Mason's IEP, and again it is stated in several different papers I had to sign that those are the instructions.  It does also state that for any tonic clonic seizure Mason's parents are to be notified immediately.  So hopefully we are all on the same page now!

But no harm done, so I'm just going to try and let that go, but I just had to get that off my chest...it's been a rough week, and back to what I wrote before---

I'M SO GLAD IT'S FRIDAY!!

So sorry to hear

i read your other post but didnt reply i cant belive that it got so bad you guys had to drag him into the school kicking and screaming it must have been heartbreaking

my boss has been through that with his 12 year old with aspergers who hates school one to many times.

so if it makes you feel any better youre not alone]terrible way to end such a stressfull week with seizures

im glad they took care of mason and he got a nap and feels better

im happy for you thats its friday as well
Hope it goes better next week.  Enjoy the weekend!Gosh WHat a week
Pour yourself a Margarita sister
Nicki, you totally need to pour yourself a glass of wine tonight. Oh my!You sure earned a lot of good mommy points this week. I can not believe
the week that you had.   If I could, I would be sending you a nice glass of
Pinot. Hope next week will be less eventful. It is wonderful that you kept it
together and made things workfor your little guy.   Mason has himself a very
capable and loving Mommy.I cant believe they didnt call you, youd figure that would be automatic! I guess everyone makes mistakes I am so sorry to hear that Mason had a few seizures this week and that they weren't handled the way that they should have been.  I hope that this coming week is better.
Take care

I hope things go better next week. Hope you all have a RELAXING weekend- you deserve it! I hope their are NO more seizures.Goodluck!Hopefully next week will be better.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
