Orange County, CA help | Autism PDD

Hi.  I'm hoping one of our Californians can help me.  A close friend of mine suspects that her 18 month old son may be on the spectrum.  He is getting early intervention for "developmental delay".  She's getting the usual brush off from her pediatrician (I'm sure many of us are familiar with that

Thanks,

Tiffany

Have her look at the TACA NOW website. They have an incredible resource
list. It even goes into who pays for what. What to do after a diagnosis and
other information.

Hi!!! I live in the South Bay (Torrance), but the psychologist who evaluated my son is in Mission Viejo.. Her name is Dr. Robin Morris and she is wonderful and knows how to deal with Regional Centers... She is on the TACA website and is highly recommended by LAFEAT. Also have ur friend try to get her son into an ABA program asap. I know that JBA in Orange County has availability right now.... WHAT DOES JBA STAND FOR?Lalloo- I tried to PM you but yrs is full.

MySunshine- This is JBA's website www.jbainstitute.com.

I can not say enough about the TACA site and support meetings. They have
a ton of information

LAFEAT is a great site resources as well. Very good recommendations
and how to to get ABA for yr child.KathyK39332.8055092593 Hi there!I am in South Orange County and I went through everything you have been through. My pediatrician blew off all of my concerns and told me that Liam would "catch up".After much begging, she referred us to an Ear,Nose,Throat specialist(we initially thought Liam was deaf) who spotted a few bahavoir things with Liam during her tests and ultimately recommended that I call Regional Center for and assessment.I can even get you the number or it may be on TACAs website. LAFEAT is great!!! I got a ton of info. and resources from them... I also mentioned to my school district that I am part of LAFEAT and I know the kind of services they offered to other people
