Wow, sorry to hear that...hope you and ds are back to your old selves soon!  Good luck with school tomorrow!

Hope things go better today,God bless ,Linda

Oh, how miserable.  I used to get poison ivy as a child because our dog would get into it and then rub against my bare legs.  Hope your son gets well soon.

Hi all,
I hope you are all well, and that school is off to a good start.  We're getting ready to start Thursday!!

Last weekend, I noticed that my son had a leaf in his hand.  He does this often when we are outside.  He began smelling it, and rubbing it on his cheek.  Lo and behold, I noticed it was poison ivy !!  I hit it out of his hand, and washed him up immediately.  Anyway, the next morning, I was covered in it, even though I didn't actually touch the leaf ( I must have come in contact with the oil when washing him up).  Matty, however, just had a little cluster on his cheek.  I was relieved and said to myself, "he got away easily".  I spoke too soon .

The next morning, his WHOLE FACE blew up like a red balloon!!!!  I had to take him in to his doctor on sunday morning.  She put him on Prednisone to help with the symptoms, but it makes him sooooo hyper.  It brings the swelling down for a while, but the next day, it''s inflamed again!!  He had to miss his first day of school, and we'll see how it is tomorrow.

We have since pulled all visible poison ivy out of the yard.  It's going to be really hard to teach him not to touch poison ivy again.  What a week!!!

Oh wow what a week. We went through that a couple of years ago, it was awful. We did prednisone too, I remember it being the only thing that got rid of it. Hope you get rid of it soon. Ouch, If you live by the ocean you may want to go. When we were little my brother use to get it real bad. My dad use to take down the shore and swim. It would dry it up .
