Good luck.  We are in the same boat.  My son starts kindergarten in a mixed special ed class that is k-2 and the teacher just graduated college.  Plus it is a new school.  Hope your sons first day went well and he adjusts quickly. Good luck tom. Hope everything goes smoothly. My youngest starts
Kindergarten tom as well. He is in a pm session 11:40-3:02. I think is is
shorter than preschool.

Tomorrow my son starts kindergarten at a new school with a new teacher.  His preschool day was from 9-1,  Now he must be in school from 8-220.

Please wish him luck or say a prayer if you will.  This is going to be VERY hard for him.

Good Luck!  I hope it goes well for him! I remember when Quinn went to Transitional Kindergarten full days. At the beginning of the year he would ocme home and nap, sometimes he would even fall asleep on the bus ride home. I would just carry him in, back then i could, now he is almost my height and almost 100 lbs.

It was hard for Quinn at first but the good thing was that he eventually adjusted.momof139328.7390625

Thank you both.

Mom of 1 I wanted to ask did your son cry or try to leave early.  That was one of my son issues in PS he would change around his schedule to the way he wanted.  Most of the time that ment he would put the "Go Home" picture on the top of the list and get the picture and his back pack and line up at the door.  They don't keep any pictures from his reach so this is going to be a long day for all.

Good Luck. You should have them call you to tell you how his day is going! Good luck to your ds and I will pray that he has a wonderful day and that the transition goes easily for him.

Keep us posted!

My son starts Kindergarten today too,he catches the bus at 8:05 and arrives home at 2:10,I am so nervous ,Although he was in a full day of daycare all year Kindergarten will be stressful for him.

God bless,Good luck,Linda

My boys started going to school full time at age 3, they went from 8-2. I thought it was way too much but the school insisted and talked me into it, and now I kind of regret it. Looking back they were not ready for that. Now at 4.5 they have that schedule except for the days they leave early for therapy and they are doing very very well with it. I think they are finally ready for full days. I agree have them call to let you know how the days going. Good luck!I hope that it goes very well for him.  It will probably be hardest on you.
