I saw one of B’s possible placements | Autism PDD

Excellent.  Good for you for checking out the placements before the IEP.Rhosyn, that is wonderful news.  Getting the right placement is so critical.Glad to hear the first visit went well and that you liked the teacher.  I hope everything works out for you and Brendon.I saw the possible placment.  The classroom is a little too cluttered, but that's my only complaint.  The teacher is someone I can definitely work with.  I usually have problems meeting strangers, but this teacher put me at ease right away.  The thing he told me at the end of the meeting was wonderful.  He said, "I have a tencency to get into trouble because I tend to fight too hard for the kids and the school board doesn't like that."  He was also very straight forward.  I told him of B's accomplishments this past year (the school board hates that he wasn't in their program) and he was impressed.  I really really liked this placement and it's at the school that's closest to where I live...walking distance actually.  I have one more placement to view...on Monday.  Then we go into the IEP meeting on Wednesday.  Both placement options will be sending their representatives (B's potential teachers.)  I'm so happy that these people are finally taking me seriously, and know they aren't going to be able to pawn second best off on my son.  Wish us luck during the next week while we wade through the process.  I'll probably be on here Thursday of next week crying because my baby is at his first day of school.
