Reactions to shots?? | Autism PDD

I am just curious if your children had bad reactions to shots? By bad I mean all three of these things, high fevers, throwing up & diareah.

Anna had it from her first shot to her last. Her ped. just kept assuring me it was better to get the shots than not to. Anyone else go through that? Anna also gets a lot of unexplained high fevers and has had fevers over 104 more times than I can remember.

Jake never had any reaction of any kind. Maybe his arm or leg was sore at the injection spot, but otherwise nothing at all.

Logan had a low fever with the chicken pox vaccine and a few spots on his butt. He had no other notable reactions to the other vaccines.

Veroniqua had a fever a cpl times but nothing else! She did get measles and chickenpoxs from both vaccines! i wont vaccinate her anymore!

None of my children had any reactions...fevers...or anything to their immunizations.

Thanks everyone for the imput. I will always wonder if there is truth to all the reports about mercury.

I think, if they advocate shots, children who have reactions should be advised to wait a year or so (unless travling oversees). Instead of telling us to keep up w/shots because we would be bad parents if we didn't.

My 2 yr old son has had shots but never reacted to any of them in any way. I told my doctor I wasn't a fanatic but I wasn't going to give him the MMR until he was much older....they were very nice and didn't mind that at all. Now, when I said I was concerned about the MMR w/my daughter they made me feel so bad if I didn't do it and made me feel like a freak for even asking. Times are changing!

Yep some dr's (and nurses) can be creeps. When the nurse saw that julian was not yet potty trained completely, she was so rude and let me know right away that it was my fault because we use pullups. She had no clue about us or his dx. So I "politely" let her know....

Luke had a horrific reaction to olne of his shots ... I think it may have been the DTaP, though offhand I can't recall. He was less than a year old, I remember. He screamed bloody murder for about 6 hours STRAIGHT, had a fever of 103, and had a huge red welt on his leg. the doctor's response? "A normal reaction to the vaccine. If his fever isn't down by tomorrow, bring him in." Well, his fever was down, but he was still fussy as hell and the welt didn't go away for quite some time. *sigh* Thank you for looking out and asking you r doc. I told my doc that this was the last shot for my jon. MY imm. doc said that we will see what happens.

Hello, My daughter did have a reaction to every shot she ever had. Mostly because they would give her a whole cluster of shots at once. She had the rashes, high fevers, diahrea, and eventually started having seizures and lost all of her speech, walking, eye contact, and emotional attachments. I can tell you first hand, the mercury thing is real. My daughter has been tested after 12 years and still had traces of mercury in her body. My younger two children have not been vaccinated and are very healthy. Of course, they will make you feel like a bad parent, because if you really knew what they weren't telling about the immunizations then no one would vaccinate their children. They make you think you HAVE to vaccinate your children, but both of my children are attending school without vaccinations and they are very healthy.

I've honestly never heard of that! What do you mean by "not working"? Oh lord, how old is he? I know not everyone agrees about vacinnes and the dangers of them....but personally, I'd pass...I am curious though to know what that means!

Yeah me too. And how would they know it didn't work? Unless they actually exposed him to the viruses that it was suppose to help to protect against.

My son gets so my labs ran by so many doc it came back that he had not protecrion and I had no anwersWhat i meanby not workin is that he ahs no protecton from the dpt shot

That is very odd. I had never heard of such a thing. I don't know if I would let them do any more unless you think he is high risk or traveling overseas.

I will ask my kids doctor when we see him this week for our visit and let you know what he says.
