Thank you Tzoya,
He is also on Stratera. I Know that many kids on the spectrum are on Risperdal or something in that family for aggression. Keith has not done well on these in the past so it is unfortunately not an option for him. I am hoping that our family and the school can get control and turn around this type of thinking. He is very compassionate. He refuses to tell what the other boy even did or said because he doesn't want him to get into trouble. We are going to be very aggressive about him NOT talking of killing or violence. We are think about positive ways he can release his neg./hurt, or angery feelings.
I don't know if it is a 'success' but maybe some.
Keith's teacher/principal called yesterday. Keith is showing aggressive behavior. He like to make a fist at his side, never hitting but making violent gestures. The major problem was a student irritated him and he said if you don't stop I am going to kill you. Ahhhh.....bad...I know. The school, my husband and I are going over a plan Friday to give him some reasonable opptions for his outlet like "stop, you are really upsetting me!" Instead of "I am going to kill you." Although it is never a good thing to say, when I was in school a statement like that would have not raised as many flags as it does today. The world we live in today must be causious when we hear talk like that. I am sure he didn't mean it but he must stop right NOW! He has been saying this durring the summer against my wishes. I think he is just in a very bad habit now.
Now the good part is the principal said he was very pleased that Keith went to his office and took full responsibility for his actions. Keith said he was really sorry, he knew that was a really stupid thing to say, and he didn't mean a word of it. He was very calm and rational. He got a detention after school and expected it. He just says (and does) things without thinking.
His home room teacher and his resource room teacher have said he is having a good start to the year and they noticed some possitive changes. He seems happier (Prozac) and a little more logic is being used than last year. He is dealing with his touble areas a little better.
