IEP meeting tomorrow. I have some IEP questions:
Are there set categories for a preschool IEP? Ours is broken into
cognitive, language, fine motor, self-care, & social. We would like to add:
gross motor & social-communication (there is a difference, between
social skills & social communcation, in my mind). Can we add those
"topics" to the IEP? Or, shall I try to squeeze them into other categories?
Also, what is a good # for objectives per goal?
I don't want to come in there & have them feel I'm setting our sights too
high. But, I also want to see progress, and not have goals set too low.
Btw, all of the goals I want to have in IEP are from ones y'all have listed
for your 3 year olds and/or ones I've found online in 3 year old goals.
THANK YOU!
babyrish call the school and set up a meeting to review the IEP...this is typically not a problem.
babyrish - there should be a review of the IEP at least once a year to update your child's needs and goals, and present level of performance updated.
