Arizona or Colorado | Autism PDD

I just moved from AZ and was planning on moving to CO, and did not because of the lack of svs's there.  AZ was terrible as well.  I still want to go to CO, but need to research inividual school districts to find a good one.Anyone have any info on Arizona or Colorado? Are these good states for Autism, what are the best school districts, any good private schools? Any info. would really help me out. Thanks NOT COLORADO!  We moved here from New Jersey and services suck.  Let me tell you it would be  a huge mistake unless you are rich and can hire people to provide services.
In school they either send kids with autism to sped room with no special autism services or mainstream them with an aide.  If that doesn't work they can go to a behavior program for children with emotional or behavioral disabilities. The wait list for services out of school is 3 years and 10 years for an adult.  People are now signing their children up for adult services, such as assisted living housing, at 8 years old, so by the time they are eligible they will be through the wait list.
Colorado ranks 48th in education funding. It is a shame.  While Arizona is not supposed to be great, I have heard it is better than Colorado.
Good luck.

For ECHO clients in Colorado Springs (Ft. Carson, Peterson AFB, Shriever AFB, AFA) there is a small group of private practitioners providing ABA services.  I am one of those providers and would be glad to talk to you and give you additional resources as well. I moved from Arizona to Texas in 2006.  I must say the schools in Tucson were 10x better than what we have here. I'm fairly disapointed with the schools. My kids don't learn its just a place they go were the people are nice to them. But we do have good therapist here so I'm grateful for that. We had good therapist in AZ but not quite as dedicated as our team in TX. Still Arizona paid for alot more, we qualified for programs instantly like Arizona Long Term Care. Texas has a similar program but the wait list is like 10 years.
