I would look for another placement. The damage this unqualified teacher is doing will  maybe irreversible. Sorry to sound so harsh. My son is also in an Autistic self contained class room. His teacher was hired on as a long term sub. He told us he used to sub at another school as a PE teacher. At the end of the school year they had him listed as a teacher teaching out of field. This is the fifth teacher they have had in that class. I have searched and found what he needs to be certified. How ever my issue is the threats, the yelling and the fact that he gets in my childs face. My child is high functioning and he's verbal. He recently told my son if he didn't take some tests he would take away all his regular classes. He told him his parents would get mad if he didn't. He also threatened our son by saing "I know you're not going to like it, if I get in your face again." We have told our child to calmy tell him to step away from him and to tell him he is in his space. He is one of those people who comes of quiet and shy around parents and school staff outside his class. How ever in class he is the opposit.I don't have any advice but think that this teacher is not a very good one and you should talk to someone about this teachers attitude and teaching tactics. I hope someone else can give you some really good advice.
