Hi Lajtta:
My 10 yr old has PDD/ADHD/OCD...we have tried a version of the feingold diet...the main part of this diet is eliminating artifical colors and preservatives, also know as phenols and salicylates...this diet got my son off stimulants like Ritalin...for kids with attention issues, these ingredients can cause alot of problems with behavior and focus...here is a list of salicylate foods:

Here is a link to Dana's View (talks about phenols too):

Hope this helps!!!
Thanks for the info. I will check it out. You can never have too much information. My grandson is on vacation this week, so I am anxious to tell them about this when they get home. The diet thing is certainly worth a try.My 6-year-old grandson was just diagnosed with PDD. It took forever to get a diagnosis and they still aren't sure if it is correct. He is definitely somewhere on the spectrum though. Anyway, very new to all of this, but my family doctor mentioned about the Feingold diet and I just wondered what someone could tell me about it. My son and his wife will try anything. Kindergarten was a nightmare. He will have some help in school this year, but I just want him to get any kind of help.
