Down load google earth NOW!! it free and its amazing, its my older asd son's latest craze THANK GOD cos it's so interesting and educational. Just google 'google earth' and follow the instructions.

(I'm off to check out wikimapia)

But apart from that, he's really getting down to the nitty gritty isn't he? I'm really impressed with his questions, he doesn't ask much but boy when he does!

spectrummum - The dustbunny link is great!  I've added it to my favorites.

Well, I'm just blown away by the fact that he formulates those kinds of questions (this is not meant to be offensive with respect to your son, hope it's not perceived as such)...just noting that the question seems so philosophical, in comparison to...my son (4.5), who rarely ask questions at all, unless it's "can we have pudding?" when it's dinner time...

I hope to some day have questions asked that I can't answer....

Kudos to Adam!

They are angels...No offense taken at all.  Adam turned 5 in Feb. so he is 5.5 years old.  At your son's age he wouldnt have been able to ask a question like this.  I would think that if your son is asking for specifics for dinner now....then he's well on his way and hopfully this time next year you will be posting something simular.

My kids like the Ask Jeeves site.  I don't know if it will help with this particular question, but it can help answer a lot of the questions kids have.

warning:  google earth can be addicting!

Why do we get to live on earth?  Because of all the planets this one has the best air, water and food for humans, so this is the planet god picked for us to live on.  (Not sure what your religious beliefs are, but god is awful handy when explaining the difficult concepts!)

Linda....FUNNY!!

Horizon..Its crazy...yea...like a couple of days ago he asked me how he was born. LOL  I told him he grew in my belly and then came out ...just like his brothers and sister.  Hey what is google earth?  He's been talking an awful lot about earth lately and I was gonna get him a globe for christmas...you know...the ones that talk. I thought he would get a kick out of it.  My oldest has a facination with our earth too because for his birthday he asked for and go the DVD set planet earth..lol  He's 15...we also got him a paintball gun....which do you think he preffered????  lol  Earth is home...lol.

I would say this to Payne - because I was here and I really wanted you so you were given to me as a present.

It's not very often that he asks why...and when he does...I have NO IDEA how to answer it.  This morning he said, "Why do we get to live on earth?"

I had no idea how to answer that so I just said.."Honey I have no idea"  But I feel bad that he has obviously made the effort to ask the question and when he does...I can't answer it.  Any ideas how to answer this one for a 5 year old?

... cause Mars is too COLD?

WOW that's a hell of a question! He's making up for lost time

I'd put google earth up and show him the water to drink and the gound to live on and the towns and houses etc. that you don't get on other planets. But we're big on google earth anyway.  Still, very cool question!
