you all have been so helpful and I really appreciate it.
noah met with the dev pediatrican today. we go back tomorrow for the second part. he said he was a little concerned with the things he did know and some things he didnt know but wouldn't go into more. he recommended a core evaluation through our local school district. he said if I felt more comfortable doing the evaluations privately that was fine too. I personally dont want to go through the school because I called them last year to do this and the lady running the program was mean and scary and it took forever to get anywhere with it all. I already had noah's speech checked yesterday and he did great, she noticed the stammering but said she thinks its a quick fix. I also have an OT eval set for next week at the same place so I am thinking I will just do that and see what happens.
the ped today said he has to wait for noah's school to fill out some paperwork so I sent that to his preschool teacher as I figured it would be quicker to have her do it where he isnt starting K for two more weeks and that teacher will have to get to know him. so he is hoping by the end of sept to be able to sit down with me and tell me what he thinks.
thats great news hun
i had problems with lucas's teacher all they kept saying to me was
we dont see anyhting
when we got the dx i went into her class and said
you know that child in your class who does not have autism she just looked at me
i very happily shoved it right up her nose
she spluttered a bit then said oh right lol
i was rolling
stick to your guns hun
because even with a dx the fight is not over this war is endless
the sad truth is that services for children with any ASD is not as up to date and has often has it should be
keep shouting my friend

We get a yearly eval done through a neuropsych...it is very thourough testing and gets a really good read on Mason's abilities. His testing always comes back higher on these tests than the schools tests. Not sure if that is the norm or not, but it is in our case.
Good luck with the rest of your evaluation...I hope you get the answers you are looking for!
