another year another book week parade, this year my ds went as wheres wally. the morning started with him braking his bed and refusing to go to the parade.we got to school on the promise i would sit with him while the other kids marched around . imagine my extreme pride and joy to see my ds bravely getting up infront of hundreds of people and marching around with his nt class mates while all the other parents smiled & clapped i cried because the effort it took was more than anyone else in that playground could imagine .and i am just so immensley proud.
i hope your kids had a really brave moment today & i hope you where blessed enough to see it.
That is great news!!!
A great memory for you!!
That's wonderful. I know how challenging parades can be. The school children here in Norway march in a parade on Constitution Day, and we've had to deal with elopement, obsessing on ice cream, sensory overload, restlessness while waiting... One of these years we'll figure out the formula of what works, and he'll be mature enough to handle it.
Congratulations on your child's parade success.
