i read somewhere that the pope would allow vaccine waivers because they use human embryos. does anyone know if this is true and where to get the form. my 2.5yr old went in for physical for early preschool and the new doc pointed out the old one never did the 15mo shots. i had to make a decision now. his last regression was after his last vaccine. hes come so far and i just dont think i can jeapordize that.
any info would be great. im supposed to go vaccinate him in an hour. ugh
The Health Dept has the form...the doctor can sign off on the form...I think that you can decline vaccines for religious implications. Can I send my children to a public or private school in Florida without immunizations?
All children who attend Florida schools (public or private) are required to be immunized in order to protect them and other children from potentially harmful, and even fatal, vaccine-preventable diseases in accordance with Section 1003.22 (previously 232.032), Florida Statutes, and Rule 64D-3.011, Florida Administrative Code.
Floridaâs school immunization requirements are in accordance with recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices to the United States Public Health Service, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association. These are the most widely recognized and accepted sources on vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases.
The State of Florida does not grant exemptions from immunizations based on personal or philosophical reasons. However, Florida does provide a Temporary Medical Exemption (TME) for those who are in the process of completing any necessary immunizations. The TME requires an expiration date after which the exemption is no longer valid, and the immunizations must be completed before or at that time.
A Permanent Medical Exemption can be granted if a child cannot be fully immunized due to medical reasons. In this case the childâs physician must state in writing the reasons for exemption based on valid clinical reasoning or evidence.
A Religious Exemption From Immunization (DH form 681) can be issued if immunizations are in conflict with the religious tenets and practices of the childâs parent or guardian. This exemption can be issued only by a county health department and only based on established religious beliefs or practices.
Please let me know what happened. We are Catholic and if the Pope sya so -- who can argue with the Pope.
My son became ill imediately after his 15 month vaccinations and never recovered. There is no way he will get those vaccinations again!!!!
Where I live you just sign the back of the form that goes to the school. You can either list personal or religious exemptions. It is so easy. Of course the pediatrician's office still tells me they need their shots before they go to school even though they know very well this is not the case.
Good luck and listen to your instincts! Mom's have a sixth sense about these things.

thank you. im so glad i went with my gut! they were so ready to jump on vaccinating him (again) they didnt know how to read their own computer med records....after an hour of looking, my son did have the 15mo vaccines and is up to date. but, i learned a valuable lesson about procrastination. i called the local health dept, who wasnt familiar with the form. they did some looking and called me back. they have on religious exemption form. they are sending it to me monday morning. no doc or religious director has to sign. at least in md, its my right to decline the vaccines based on bonafide religious belief. considering i get sick just thinking about the idea that aborted human fetuses are used in the making, and the cell tissues from them, it truly does go against what i morally believe in, even if im doing it to keep my son from going backwards because ive learned the govt cant be trusted and the pharmacuetical and oil companies are giving grand kick backs to our politicians.
thanks for the responses, i was in a MAD PANIC!
