I am just laughing when I read my post in March - you all were so nice to me - I was such an ignoramous - he was sooooooo ASD and I could not see it and I was just looking at his positives

It's IMPORTANT to look at the positives. In fact, we should ALL make sure that the IEP team does that FIRST in any IEP meeting. Like all human beings, ASD kids learn using their strengths. Of course, any form of denial, though usually unavoidable, delays proper treatment. Youa re a GREAT mom, KajoliT and your son will definitely become the best HIM he can be.Kajoli,
I read your posts and I actually searched a few of my own since I joined this board.... I can say that u effuse so much positivity and hope and your posts have that hint of a brighter tomorrow.... U HAVE COME A LONG WAY, not bec U didn't think that Rohan had ASD or not but your attitude, zest and ardor has become stronger and more forceful over time...
I wish I could say that for myself...
Now I am almost full circle to my ol' self...but much stronger, wiser and more at peace than I ever thought possible..I still get knocked down with seeing other peers sometimes but have the knowlege that it's okay and she is progressing...that is all that matters now to me:)
You girls will be mentoring the new moms & dads a year from now and only have vague reminder of this first year:)
Take the tools you learn here and pass them on to others that are just starting out~it is very therapeutic ;)
I also focused on my son's strengths when he was first going to be evaluated, to the point that I didn't communicate clearly about what I was concerned about. But being positive is a big asset in the long run!
I think that a parents first post on an autie forum must be quite difficult. Last thing you need is someone being insensitive to you. Plus there are dev probs in the world that ar not on the spectrum, we old timers can forget that sometimes.
KajoliT that is really great.
