Brodey’s ears | Autism PDD

Share

Today I had the follow up for my toddlers ear problems. Last month he had bleeding and infection in his left ear and a blocked tube in his right. I was given antibiotic drops for the left ear and told to use peroxide and vinegar mix for the right ear.

The left is clear and healthy but the right tube is still blocked. The Dr. says the right tube is useless now but the ear isn't infected. He recommended two more weeks of peroxide and vinegar.

I also had a hearing test done and he passed with flying colors.

nelle- when my sons tubes were block my dr. actually gave me some drops to loosen up the wax and told me to use it once a week so it would not get blocked again.

Nelle,

Thanks for the update...Thats great news that the hearing test came out good and no infection.  Sorry that he has to go through the peroxide for 2 more weeks.  I hope that clears  it up so that he won't have to have surgery again.  Take care,

Karrie

Nelle - I too am glad to hear that he passed his hearing test with flying colors!  Hooray for Brodey!  We also were given drops to loosen wax...I'm surprised that they don't have something more "modern" to do that!!!  Although financially, I'm sure it's much cheaper.  Hope he clears up soon.

Kellie - glad both you AND Luke did OK today...good to hear it went well.  It's funny how these little guys have the strength of 10 men when they need it huh?!?!

Luke just had tubes put in his ears this morning ... the anesthesiologist actualy found me after the surgery to tell me "Your son is a real fighter!!  He did NOT like having the gas mask over his face!"  LOL  We could've told him that! :)  Anyway, we were wondering if these tubes can get blocked -- and I guess they can!  I hope this won't happen.  Poor little Luke needs a break from doctors for a good long while.

Glad to hear that your son's hearing test went well!  I can completely empathize with what you must go through to put the peroxide in his ears. UGH
