My son has been on Straterra for the last 3months it has helped with his hyperness but recently in the last week we have nticed that he has become more angry, aggresive
Any thoughts? Is it the Straterra making him act this way even though it didn't before the last week? I am scared he is regressing...he is acting more autistic than ever before.

My 16 yr old son had been on it and hated it. He was lathargic and couldn't stand how he felt on it. He wouldn't disclose too much to me other than he didn't want to be on it. My dad, who is ADD also tried it but said he couldn't pee so he had gone off of it. Don't know what that is about. But my dad is up there in years.
I don't know much else about it. sorry.

My 11 year old has been on it for two years with great success. In factmedadate is a form of ritalin, a stimulant drup for the adhd. it is easier to give to a 4 year old than ritalin and cant swallow pills yet. we open it and sprinkle the pellets under his tounge. it is a controlled drug so you have to get a new prescription each month, instead of just ahaving a refill on file at the pharmacy.

What's medadate?
My son has had psychotic reaction to every anti-psychotic he's tried, like Risperdol. He's on Abilify now and he is doing really well.
my 4 year old takes it, in the evening. he takes medadate in the morning, trying to wean hime to the stattera, but i have not seen a lot of improvements on the stattera. he had MAJOR problems taking adderall. it would cause him to have like a hallucination reaction to the dishwasher and air vents. such an extreme sensitivity, that they had to report it to the FDA.
i am almost to the point of putting him back on a 2 a day metadate regime. b4 2 made him have a depressed state, but that was taking 2 in the am together. we have another apt w/ the neurologist in sept. so he will make what ever adjustments we need.
