We were just told our contract comes up in a couple months. The State has given us 2 years of ABA, which they say is long enough and since they cannot do anything academically and he's not improving self-help/social wise that the state no longer sees the reasons to keep the program going. I understand their side, but at the same time I'm thinking wouldn't the fact he still needs help keep it going? Maybe switch up the program again? Whatever the reasons it really doesn't matter. The program in ending.
I have Tricare and never pursued anything except ST, OT, and PT through them. Does anyone have ABA covered by their Tricare insurance? Any advice for trying to get ABA through them? I have a call out to my ds Dev. Ped.
ETA; I just wanted to add that the State is not leaving us high and dry. I can call them for help at anytime and they will send someone to my home to help me with behaviors, PT and such. They are just cutting out daily ABA services!
Tricare provides our BCBA too, but it is very much a supervisory role. I provide my own therapist. The program is called ECHO. You will need a recommendation from the "primary care physician" which I use the developmental ped., child needs to be enrolled in EFMP, they need a copy of the IEP. If you call the EFMP at your local military hospital, they can give you the number of your ECHO rep and get it started; however, you will probably need to provide your own therapist or yourself to do the program and it only covers about 00 a month.

Tricare covers my BCBA, and he does the therapy himself. He has several military clients, knows the drill, and tells me I'm lucky to have tricare cause he turns people away everyday because they can't pay and most insurances doesn't cover it. He charges 5 an hour but 2500 a month is is plenty for the boys' needs. THere is also a copay depending on rank, for us its 30$ a month, for the major I know its 50, and the person in the military has to be active duty, if you are retired you can't get echo. This guy actually gave a talk at the Family readiness center, that is how I found out about him. But the echo person who calls you and you deal with will have a list of places for you to call.
