I am seeking for information on the best public educational system for autistic kids. I have two sons with autism; 8 yrs and 5 yrs. Both are barely verbal but they enjoy going to school. We are presently living in Oklajoma and are intending to move to any of the following places depending on availability of local resoiurces to take good care of our children:
Charlottesville, Virginia; Greater New Orleans, Louisiana; Shreveport, Louisiana; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Ann Arbor, Michigan; Albany, New York
Thanks a million for your replies

Stay away from the City of Albany schools...
many good surrounding towns though with schools.

Don't limit yourself to specific cities/states unless you are transferring w/a company or something. Do your research! You might be surprised at what you'll find. We chose upstate NY for quality of life, autism awareness, good doctors, and good schools. NY has laws specific to educating kids w/autism and one of them is they get minimal 1 hr. speech per day! You would probably have a very good chance at finding great resources in the Northeast somewhere. The South scares me although it can be very beautiful and affordable.
