Would you throw them out? | Autism PDD

That was a good thread. Now I'm thinking throwing them out would be an over reaction in our case.

Personally, I would only be concerned if my child was still putting toys in his mouth.

I personally would only be concerned about toys that have actually been recalled.  Here is an interresting thread started by Fred after the last recall.

Well she doesn't do that very often but will put her fingers in her mouth or touch food after playing with the toys.

I was looking at the list of Mattel products in the new recall.

My daughter doesn't have any on the list but has similar toys such as the Dora dolls. Would you get rid of them? Does anyone know if Mattel is now testing all their toys?

Thanks.

Ali had one toy that was on the list....which she mouths all the time.  I took it away right away.  Ironically, Ali's lead test showed her to have a slightly elevated blood lead level.  However, I am worried that is from her father's house where they have old paint (I suspect is lead) peeling....she mouths thigs there.

I would only take away anything on the list...but would be extra watchful of my child mouthing any toys.
