Since the topic of pdd-nos vs AS vs autism keeps coming up I was
looking to see if the classifications are going to change soon. I came
accross

Apparently the new DSM is expected in 2011 and they are taking
comments about changes to be made (the DSM-4 Text Revision in 2000
had some minor changes on pdd-nos). I don't think they will collect
comments from mere mortal parents but maybe we could lobby our kids
psychiatrists to have a classification system that is less dependent on
subjective interpretation.
added: Actually I think anyone can submit suggestions for changes/
pointing to weak areas. I might just do that. If they get enough letters
from parents who feel that current classifications are too confusing ( I
realize not all of feel that way) they might consider changes.
