Just curious, when i took Carlo to see his physc last week. i got a report stating not only did he have pdd-nos but also explosive and distruping behavior.Any thoughts from anyone or any info would be appreciated.thanks to all.mom2carlo
Gabe has explosive and disturbing behaviour. The neuro said it was a form of mania. And since my brother has bipolar we do have to watch for that when he gets older.

Now I would assume ( and you know what they say about assuming LOL) that his behavior would be part of the pdd-nos, I've never heard of someone seperating the 2. Perhaps someone else will know about it !I think alot of it depends on the family medical history. You can have impulsive behaviour with pdd-nos. But then again it gets murky when you start looking at the different mental disorders. I know from looking at the disorders online alot of them share the same characteristics.

I think your doc needs to elaborate more. The behaviors can be part of the spectrum disorder... It can be diagnosed seperately if it is significant enough... Many ASD kids are also dx'd with bipolar, ODD, or other things...... Again I would be asking the dr to be more specific.
