Hi,
When I first suspected my son might have Autism I tried researching it further online.
I found lots of articles and joined a forum or two, but the following link is
THE BEST "symptom" information I've seen so far...
"VISUAL GUIDE TO BEHAVIORAL SYMPTOMS"
( scroll down to page 6 )
http://www.helpautismnow.com/p/physhandbook.pdf
Unfortunately, I didn't find this guide until after my son was already diagnosed.
As the best case scenario is recognizing the symptoms as early as possible.
I'm going to print it out and use it to better explain my son's condition to family, friends, neighbors, teachers, strangers, etc.
It's all still very overwhelming and I get so emotional when I try to explain it, so I'm really very excited about finding this!
(I'd originally posted this in another section, but thought it would maybe fit best here.)
I think this is a fantastic article.... tho my dd was diagnosed months ago and unfortunately for me, I KNEW she had austism before the doc gave us the official dx, this visualization helps explain her abnormal behavior very clearly.. I will print it out for family/friends.
Thanks. Good luck on your journey ahead.
This article is an excellent link..a keeper;~P It is also a great reminder years later to see how many things our kids have overcome:)
Thanks!
I agree.Hope you all don't mind...I am putting together a resource guide specific to Connecticut and put this very topic into the "introduction" chapter. I would be happy to send a pdf to anyone who cares for a copy. It is a little too lengthy at 6 pages to post here.
just send me a PM
