Thanks and I agree whole-heartedly that you guys are the strongest people that I know. We all have our ups and downs, but I gain most of my strength from hearing your trials and errors. I feel very fortunate to have found this family of people just like me and with kids like mine.

Thanks guys, I O U BIG TIME!!
Thank you - I think you are pretty amazing yourself !!!

Hi everyone

I just have to ask all of you, How do you do it? How do you handle the stress that comes with a autistic child?  When I asked my dd the same question she said you do what you have to do.She has a wonderful, helpful husband and a VERY large family for support but when it is all said and done it is up to them.

When it all gets to be too much  dealing with the theraphys, Drs. , sensory issues and meltdowns....  Who helps you? who is your support system, who calms your meltdowns?

I just wanted to say...   YOU ARE ALL AMAZING!!!!!!!

Thank you!  Your amazing too & your daughter is lucky to have you..Devin too:)

I think once you get out all the grieving you either drown in it or get busy...I got extremely busy:) As long as I was helping her I wasnt drowning in pity...

My dd pediatrician told me she may never talk or have emotions..that got me mad

I really should send her a  "Thank you" note!  My dd is doing awesome and totally engaged, loving and talking like crazy!

The professionals should tell parents that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that our kids make huge strides and become completely different kids over time....doing nothing was unbearable..I couldnt breathe right...

My daughter is my hero..she had to work and learn so much we all take for granted and she still continues to amaze me with her talents and gifts:)

hmm..how do I do it? Let's see, I spent the whole day CRYING because my son is going through some sort of regression, he won't stay at his kinder (preschool) anymore, his fear of separation has started again so I had to stay with him, with my 11 weeks old baby in my arms most of the time, trying my best to prevent any temper tanturms from happening.

I gave my son a good dose of 'water therapy' yesterday meaning I put him in the hot bath (supervising him ofcourse) for over an HOUR because I couldnot take his screaming anymore. I figured since he loves water so much, he will have some fun and so would I. (By posting on this board). He was actually very calm later on.

So amazing parent? ha! I think you must be talking about someone else!

Mary
