I called ours that is private and doesnt take insurance last friday and he is going to evaluate our dd on monday...it is out of pocket but worth it:)

No time wasted:)

Ugh! I'm so jealous! It's partially my own fault for putting it off so long -but I'd just like to get some answers and someone to put all his issues into perspective a little better for me. It just seems like he has a smattering of unrelated 'diagnoses' right now. Oh well, maybe if we're lucky, he'll have outgrown most of his issues by that point and we won't even need our appointment! I can hope can't I? People cancel all the time. Kids get sick, and it's not a great time to evaluate
them. Plans change, they get "in" at another office....
Call and let the front desk know you would LOVE to be notified of any
cancellations, if at all possible. Thank them profusely, and check in every
3-4 weeks. Be friendly and self-effacing. If you get in early, BRING
COOKIES!
Worked for me!!

I convinced a receptionist to put my name and number on a sticky note by
the phone. I'm shameless. But I got in about 5months earlier than my
original appt.
Good Luck!!I spoke with the developmental pediatrician's office today. I asked about how long the waiting list was currently (and we're just now getting added) - and she said that they're currently booked up until the end of the year, and she's already scheduling appointments into the spring!   So it looks like it'll be a long wait for us!!!!

We got lucky and got an app. next weekend
