Toys?? | Autism PDD

my kids love the sandbox (picked up on clearance at target) The ball pit, vibrating ball, collapsable tent, alien (when I figure out how to put pics up I will put this one on), big floor pillows, trains, playdoh, playstation 2 (Larryboy, Cars, and Spongebob), that's about all I can think of but I am sure there are more. We have a jumpolene, mini trampolene, t-ball set and exercise ball. He is starting to get into pretend play items like fireman's hat, construction clothing, play food, etc. He loves this blow up boat for the pool and has a fishing pool and goes fishing (in the basement). Music and instruments are well liked. Some kids like the sit and spin. He loves his leapster. What are some toys (that ASD kids will actually play with - and not just line up) that are fun that are also therapeutic?  Like, I know I am getting Ali either the jumper I saw on another thread or an enclosed tramploine since she loooooves jumping and cannot seem to stop moving, I thought it will help her "get her energy out" as she says.  I am also looking at chairs for her (I saw a bouncy chair and an Elmo chair that vibrates).  Her V-smile games help calm her.  What other toys does anyone have for thier child that are also helpful and enjoyable?  Anything parents can do/play with too?Sarah loves her giga ball..Rissa's mom got her the Hershey kiss swing on ebay:) ...We have inflatable bounce house from little tykes that is safe and can be used indoors:)  Plastic cheap pool with pit balls in it:) Just put balls in lawn bag when not in use & store in garage:) Giant ball to sit and bounce on with asst. or those hoppity hop balls with handles:)  Good lucK!

For us, the favorites have always been the swing set, the giant sandbox, the scooter, the bike, Legos, Tinker Toys, K'Nex and Play Doh.  Toys that talk or play music  have always been a hit.  Right now both of my kids like PlayMobile toys.  However, there are some really small parts.  Little People sets are always good too.

Swingset.

Small plastic horse figures.

That is about IT, and she has a LOAD of toys.

HOWEVER, she is just beginning to use her megabloks for actual BUILDING, at SIX ... so do not give up!

Music and intruments are very well liked here too. Target has this Parents brand that has this drum full of other intruments. It was the biggest hit this past Christmas of almost all the other Christmas' together. And there was something for all of them to play with.

Sensory toys are great toys: Floam, moon sand, playdough, slime, beans & rice bin, shaving cream on table, cool sprinkler:)

Shelley,

Ali LOVES floam...I detest the stuff....maybe I should go ahead and get her a reg. tub of it (she has only gotten the little bubbles worth out of the machine in the grocery store).

Play Doh

Mr. Potato Head - I love this!  We use the pieces to decorate jello and fruit too (use a melon half for the head and fruit skewers for hair)

Lego/Duplo - my kids play with this every single day
