Well hopefully we can get some answers next week to fiqure out what he is sensitive to. We thought he would at least go in and try it but ohhh well..it made me want to be home more. I could not wait to get out of town for a break however, I did not realize my breaks were in our own home enviroment.
Thanks for all your support!
I'm sure you'll come up with ways to prepare your little one and make it go smoother next time, but you might have to wait awhile for water park success (I haven't dared take my son to that noisy, busy environment yet, but indoor play parks go okay for us).
What a bummer! As fellow parents of ASD kids, we've all been there. Vacations are tough on kids that thrive on habit and love the familiar. Enjoy your time together at home, take a deep breathe, and for God's sake pour that wine already!
Hoping he is better now and peace comes soon:)
i know exactly what your saying. Cameron obsesses all day. we pull up to a gas station and he screams out all the numbers on the pumps, he loves to flick switches and turn lights on and off. when watching tv or reading he gets stuck on any numbers he sees and wont stop talking about it. its frustrating. i want him to just snap out of itWell we tried to take Carter to an indoor water park in Minneapolis. What a bomb that was. We stayed at the hotel for 1 night and we were ready to pull our hair out. His stimms were soooooo bad that we could not control it. He would not stop talking about the lights! On and off on and off. Than we attempted the waterpark..we opened the door and he fell to the ground screaming and hitting his head! As soon as we took him out he was running around like nothing happened! We went out to eat that night and there was a fan on. He kept saying "round and round". I have never seen him sooo bad before. We could not even get through to him unless I put my hands on his face and called his name. That of course through him into another fit!
We visited family the next day and same things. We decided to leave at night so the kids would actually sleep and it would be less painful for us and lets just say for the 1st hour of the ride Carter kept pointing out all the stop lights and car lights we drove by! We are home and he is still sleeping! I am hoping he returns to his normal self.
