Haha, r u kidding, I would eat nothing but when I was a kid. Hardly any fruit or vegtables, those had to be forced upon me. I loved spagetti and pizza, could eat it every night, and in the mounring, toast with ppj or sugar was it! Now I try and eat better, tryin to gain weight from all those years of eating like crap, not that it was mom and dad's fault. Now I eat a ton of meat, somethin I never used to eat.my daughter is like this. At first I thought that she only ate "white" foods - potato chips, pasta, pretzels, no milk but pediasure, bread, espeically the inside of french bread. She does not get vitamins or does she take them, but she drinks the pediasure by the gallon. She started drinking this ONLY with the sippy but, so be careful, PEDIASURE is FULL OF SUGAR and rots the teeth if you let it. Yep, carbs and dairy. She does eat chicken, beef, some fruits and some veggies but carbs and dairy are what she favors.
Thats pretty much all my son eats too.
He eats bagels, waffles, cereal, obsessed with cheese, milk, crackers, cream cheese, grilled cheese sandwich, pbj, french toast sticks (only certain type). Hebrew nat. hotdogs sometimes and chicken nuggets (micky ds), lately not as much of the meats he likes lately tho. He used to literally live off of corn dogs for a long time but lately cant get him to eat them anymore. Thats all i can think of right now.
He dosnt like veggies or fruit except the occasional apple or orange slice every once in a few months!
My son's favorite foods are:
C typically doesn't like plain meat, like steak or a chicken breast. But if the meat is either smothered in condiments like a McDonald's cheeseburger, or ground up inside something else, like a potsticker or tortellini, then he'll gobble it up. One thing of note is that C isn't fussy about any particular brand or preparation.
My daughters like to eat everything, just like Mikey from the life cereal commericals. They a broader set of foods that they like to eat than their mother of their brother (not me, though, heh). I guess we got lucky that way. We were low on food the other day so their mother made them turkey and hummos sandwhiches with a side of sliced zuchini. They scarfed it.For the record, I am a major carb/dairy addict. Barely tolerate red meat, eat chicken, some fish, lots of fruits, and minimal vegetables. My diet closely mimics my son's other than the fact I am willing to try new things. But for the most part I eat the same types of food for breakfast and lunch, and dinner is where the variety comes in.
I have a hard time forcing my son to venture out since in a lot of ways I'm a lot like him in this area.

Mary My typical dinner as a child: 3 glasses of whole milk one baked potato, with 1/4 - 1/2 stick of butter and salt. I think it IS the current American diet! And, if the carbs are NOT FRIED, be thankful
G'day everyone, Somebody made a comment; 'bread, carbs and milk products, the diet of a true autistic'. I don't know if it applies to your child but for us, it rings 100% true. My son's diet: cereal n milk bread/ toast with sweet toppings like jam or chocolate noodles/pasta/macaroni rice cheese chips / french fries and very selective fruits occasionally (strawberries, banana, orange, sultanas (raisins), and meat/chicken sneaked in. Boy oh boy, do I learn something new everyday!!!
Does your child love carbs and dairy? Mary Yep! Our dd eats only what you mentioned plus or minus a few!
It seems to be very common but her menu is slowly increasing 6 or more new items each year and she is far from malnurished:) and I forgot to mention pizza 'crust', how could I forget, while all of us are enjoying a delicious pizza, ds is contentedly muching away on the crust/base, and no topping please.
My son is a big boy for his age, very strong and healthy except for when he is going through a growth spurt, he looks a bit thinnish. People have a hard time beleiving that he is a very picky eater. Major problem for us to get him to sample new foods/fruits or veggies. Its hard to think that he was a baby who would devour anything and everything. Oh how I wish those days would come back,as afar as eating is concerned! Mary My son is on the GFCF diet, so I trick him a little with rice and potato subs, but he is a carb junkie none the less. Carbohydrates, especially glutein interact with a certain protein in the autistic digestive system creating an "opiod effect," in other words... it gives them a "high" and makes them feel calm. The good thing is, I can get him to eat veggies by allowing him to have a little of rice pasta, potato chips, rice cakes, etc before hand and then offering him more of the food he likes after the food he doesn't particularly care for. The routine took almost 3 months to put in place, but he's finnally got it.
Those with infants. I had to mix a fruit/veg together when our daughter was small hated the veggie baby foods. Now a veggie freak at 14 years.
