An 8 year old boy by the name of Christian died Friday night. He was in his back yard when his swing broke and he apparently wrapped the rope around his neck. When they found him he was rushed to Texas Childrens Hospital, where he lay in a coma for 2 days, untill passing away Friday night. The mother is a friend of a friend and I still dont know.. Who was watching this little boy??? People just dont get it!!! these children have to be watched ALL THE TIME!!! I have been sooo sad and I get that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomache when I think of that little angel, who's life was cut short because no one was watching him. I have been extra close to my baby these last couple of days, I always watch him like a hawk, and when something this heartbreaking happens, it only re-enforces my belief that you cannot trust your autistic child to know better or to just assume that they know the dangers around them. Lets all say a prayer for Christian and his family. May the Lord hold his newest little angel in his arms always. Bless you sweet child. Prayers for Christian and his family. I will be hugging my little one extra close tonight
But something positive does come from it, in that it served as a reminder to the rest of us, who may get lax from time to time... Prayers for the family, the crush of guilt they must be feeling now...:(
I have to say that as a mother of three -my asd kid being the oldest- it is
not humanly possible to watch all three kids every minute. They are out
of my sight for short times doing their own thing in a child proof
environment. The swing breaking sounds like one of those freak
accidents that should not but could have happend to any kid - autistic or
not. My heart goes out his family....... what a heartbreaking story.
