I get just as excited to nonverbal expressions as verbal:) They are rare and precious:)
Excellent!!
Ds gave him this look of amazement and surprise and then looked at me with an "Is he INSANE?" question on his face! Everyone just cracked up laughing! I made sure with our neighbor that it was okay - because imagine all that ORANGE stuff all over - and there were pretty young kids down there - and he said it was totally fine. Ds said, "Thanks!" and took off before anyone could change their minds!
Anyway, it was really funny (you probably had to be there!) but it also was great that ds was able to communicate exactly how he felt WITHOUT SAYING A WORD. He really even asked a question to me non-verbally. Because his "Is he insane?" look to me - was really more asking permission because he was pretty sure the neighbor had lost his mind!
This was an issue we were told to work on a few years ago - that ds could identify emotions but couldn't necessarily make the emotion on his face (see my Making Faces book post as well for a resource in teaching that as well). He has come a LONG way!
That is great! How awesome that he was able to relay his thoughts with his facial expressions.
My kids love Cheetoes but I hate the orange hands!!!!!
How cute -- and EXCELLENT!That's fabulous! I'm quite the Cheetos fan myself!
