For those of you that are fans of the Signing Time series of DVDs, just wanted you know that three new DVDs are coming out with some great news signs.  Go to http://www.signingtime.com for info, etc.

I love these DVD's and I credit sign language with finally making language "click" for my son.   He started talking when he stared signing.  My daughter (NT) will be 2 next week and she loves them too.  Plus she now has an extensive spoken vocabulary.  Watcing the DVDs together was a real bonding experience for my children.

Anyhoo, my brother is deaf and I am sort a sign language fan.   If you are frustrated, you might want to try it and you can check these out at most libraries if you dont want to spend the $$ until you know your kiddo likes them.

Does signing work for your son with autism?? thats interesting because my son is 2 and when he was younger and watched baby einstein videos he would do the sign for more, mom, and dad.. its probably a good time to start teaching him more signs if he will use them. he doesnt use many words just whines

Yes, signing worked wonders for my son with autism.   He would make the signs in the mirror and it was like he could "see" his words for the first time and withing days of learning a sign, he would say the word.   Now he speaks and signs at the same time.

We love Signing Time here!  My sons both learned to sign which lead to speech for my youngest son!    My oldest is still non-verbal but has learned a few signs that have made life easier for him (and us).  It's a great series and I'm glad they are coming out with more!
