He is doing great, and it is obvious it is thanks to YOU -- great job of helping identify feelings and motives!

I cannot wait to see where he goes!!!

I am going to see this once I get home - thanks for posting Oh Donny's Mom that is fantastic!!!
You have a great way of communicating with your son! He did a great job! That was fantastic!!! Hes doing soooo great, youre doing a fantastic job with him mom. Hi,

I tried to see your video, but when the link is pasted, and i am redirected to photobucket, I can't see the video because it asks for your password.

hrm...I'll try again.

http://tinyurl.com/2dnj76Don's communication is getting better lately. I managed to capture some
of it on video yesterday. He was in timeout (sort of - I'd asked him to go
play with his toys in his room rather than pacing and obssessing, as he
was having a rough day. He did go in his room, then sat in there
screaming his head off at me, so I closed the door, which he interpreted
as timeout), and was yelling at/for me, and I was getting fed up, so I
figured I'd pull out the camera, film him, and later, when we were all
calm, we'd review it and talk about appropriate vs inappropriate
behaviour.

Anyway, I was too frustrated to catch all his language while I was filming
this, as you'll see in the video - he's got some clear good communication
which I could have run with, but instead I keep bringing him around to
what I want to talk about...ah well, I'm human too!

When I watched it later, I was really thrilled with how well he's
communicating - spontaneous language AND gesturing, and definitely
trying to engage in some back and forth discussion.

FWIW, I've never used the words "bad job" - that's his own language. I do
say "good job" quite often. I also haven't ever said "your/my fault" to him
- he must have heard that on TV or read it somewhere. We also don't
have heated communication with pointing/gestures in our home -
everything is done fairly calmly, and with words. He knows how to point
at himself and others for labelling and whatnot, and is spontaneously
applying it in the video to emphasize his point.

The video is about 4 minutes long, and gives a good picture of what
Donny's speech and communication is like. Please ignore the fact that
he's only in his underwear - it was hot and we were having a lazy
morning

I can never make my links work right in here, so you'll need to just copy
and paste the address. The link worked!  Donny did a very nice job answering your questions and expressing himself.  I also think you did a great job engaging him.  Yeah!

Wow!

 What a handsome boy!

I loved the way you communiated to him and helped him identify his actions and emotions!  Super job mom!  He had great eye contact with you and clearly had some remorse in his words for his actions:)

Keep on doing what your doing...he is really tuned into you:) Thanks for sharing!
