i would like to think its my choice as it is my kid...lol
I havnt tried melatonin. I need to call the dr to address my concerns but I will see if her sleep has improved without...1 night was good but its not enough to tell so if its better i dont want her on any more meds.
With Clonidine...since it raises/lowers blood pressure (that's what it really is for - blood pressure) I would talk to him BEFORE changing it at all.she was on a 1/2 tablet of 0.1 mg dosage.
she didnt perscribe it for her Bp at all. just sleeping.
I know...that's why it was prescribed to Payne. I would still call before you decide to stop giving it to her.ok...I will give them a call.
Did you have proplems on that med?
It is your choice as to whether she should be on it. Talk to the doctor and tell him your concerns...have you tried melatonin? They put Rissa on this 2 months ago to help regulate her sleeping pattern. Well i dont like how she is on it. She Was such and independant sleeper before. She would go climb in bed and have her binky and a sippy of water and she was set, she would go to sleep ok on her own but awake soooo many times at night and wake her sister up with her playing which is why they put her on meds.
Since starting them she instantly changed. She would not go to sleep without me holding her and if I tried to put her in bed alone she would run after me in a panicky sob and be kicking and and hitting her door to make me come get her.
well last night I didnt give her her pill at all. She went to sleep MUCH later...11:30, But she didnt cry, not once. Im soooo dont with that med. To me its not worth it to put her through that.
The only reason I can think that she would act that way is maybe it made her feel so different that it scared her.
she slept all the way through the night though untill 9 am, so overall not bad :)
I called, her nuerologist wants to see her on the 8th.Excellent. Maybe he'll try something more homeopathic. I seriously would ask about the melatonin. My dad, stepmom and cousins use it to help them sleep. I don't use it for Payne b/c he's on so much other stuff that makes him sleepy he doesn't need it to sleep. With Payne's issues it is VERY hard to get all meds, schedules, etc the way he needs them. Payne is classic mod-severe autistic, bipolar, epileptic, ADHD and has SEVERE migraines that make him throw up and unable to walk.
